Jim Sherrod, Chairman
Born in 1968 at Emanuel County Hospital to Arthur and Helen Sherrod, Jim is a lifelong resident of Emanuel County. He is a 1986 graduate of Swainsboro High School. He has been married to his wife Bobbie for 26 years and together they have six children: Zach, Shea, Chase, Brittany, Lauren, and Cayden. They have three grandchildren: Maddux, Maddie Grace and Tate. Along with two step grandchildren Aceton and Addie. Jim has been employed with Pineland Telephone for over 30 years, working with the company in most of the areas he now serves as a county commissioner. Jim has served on several boards as director, chairman and president. He currently is serving on the Swainsboro Emanuel County Recreation Board, Twin City Emanuel County Recreation Board and the Swainsboro Emanuel County Joint Development Authority. Jim has also been a small business owner for the last 15 years. Jim was sworn in to his first term as county commissioner in January 2019 and is diligently working to become certified by the ACCG.
