Superior Court

The Superior Court of Emanuel County serves citizens and parties through civil and criminal matters designated to the Superior Court by Georgia law.  Superior Court Judges preside over all court matters in the Superior Court.  The court handles all felony criminal cases, including death penalty cases, and works with the District Attorney and Public Defender to facilitate the processing of those cases.

The filing fee for civil case filing is $205.00 per case.  Fees may be paid with check, money order, or credit card.  As of January 1, 2019, cases filed in Superior Court should be filed electronically.  A public access terminal is available in the Clerk’s Office for electronic filing assistance.  Parties are allowed to file from home at www.peachcourt.com

The following type cases are heard in the Superior Court, along with others that may not be listed: Adoptions, Child Support, Custody, Divorces, Family Violence and Protective Orders, Parental Rights, Name Changes, Other Civil Suits, Garnishments, and Felony Criminal Records.

Emanuel County Superior Court is in session each Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., except the 2nd and 5th Wednesday, and other recognized holidays.  Trial terms are reserved for the 2nd Monday in January, April, and July, and on the 3rd Monday of October.
