The Emanuel County Elections Office is where democracy comes to life. Under the leadership of Director Kerry Curry, the elections team is dedicated to ensuring every voice is heard in local political races.

One of the most essential functions they carry out is voter registration. You can complete that process in person with the elections staff, or you can do it online.

If you're interested in running for public office, the elections team is responsible for accepting candidates' required paperwork and filing fees.

They also track which seats are up for grabs, along with important deadlines for those races. Our elections calendar, complete with the option to sign up for reminders, is updated monthly to ensure county citizens are well informed about the local political scene and empowered to make their voices heard year-round.

For your convenience on Election Day, polling places are spread throughout the county to ensure accessibility for all voters. Early voting takes place at the elections office, but you must vote at your designated precinct on Election Day. Our voting maps can help you determine where yours is located. Polling places open at 7 AM and as long as you're in line by 7 PM, you'll have the chance to cast your ballot.

Our voting guides provide counsel about the voting process, like how it works, what to take with you, and other pertinent information.

Once the polls close, Kerry, her staff, and the board of elections work together to count every vote, then they meet a few days later to certify the findings.

In 2024, the Georgia Secretary of State implemented an additional security measure in the voting process by requiring audits of results for major elections. The board of elections is charged with carrying out this task at the local level.

Also new in 2024, the county office began working with the elections team to create a log of local election results. This archive dates back to 2023. For earlier results, refer to the Georgia Secretary of State's website.
