Mike Head

Mike Head has served as the Building and Facilities Superintendent for Emanuel County since joining the county team in July 2021. With more than 37 years of experience in the facilities profession, his extensive background includes 17 years with the Veterans Administration, 15 years with Georgia Southern University, and two years with Xanterra Parks and Resorts at the Grand Canyon.

Mike approaches his work with a philosophy rooted in exceptional service, integrity, and the belief in going the extra mile. He emphasizes that how something is done often matters more than the task itself, encourages striving for excellence with even small efforts, and values making positive, meaningful impacts every day. These principles define the standards he upholds for himself and his team in maintaining Emanuel County’s facilities.

A native of Jenkins County, Mike has been married to his high school sweetheart, Anette, for 38 years. They have two daughters, both nurses in the area, along with a 5-year-old grandson and 3-year-old twin granddaughters.
