Qualifying for May Primary and November General

Interested in running for office in Emanuel County in 2026? The qualifying period to file and officially qualify for placement on the May Primary and November General Election ballots is still open.
Qualifying is now happening for the May Primary and November General elections.
If you want to run for office and appear on either of these ballots, you must complete the candidate qualifying process during this window. It opened at 9 AM on Monday, March 2, 2026 and will close promptly at 12 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026.
To qualify, you must go in person to the Emanuel County Elections Office to file the required paperwork and pay the qualifying fee for the office you are seeking. All materials must be submitted in full before qualifying closes. Late or incomplete filings cannot be accepted.
If you are thinking about running, it is a good idea to review eligibility requirements, office-specific qualifications, and required documentation ahead of time so you are prepared when qualifying opens. Elections staff are available during regular business hours throughout the qualifying period to assist with the process.

“Qualifying for candidates shall begin at 9:00 a.m. on the first day and end at 12:00 noon on the last day of qualifying. O.C.G.A. § 21-2-132(d)"
