NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The Emanuel County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2023 millage rate which will require an increase in property tax by 12.93 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on the tax increase to be held at the Coleman Hotel, 101 North Main Street, Swainsboro, GA on August 28, 2023 at 8:00 AM.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Coleman Hotel, 101 North Main Street, Swainsboro, GA on August 28, 2023 at 6:00 PM and September 5, 2023 at 6:00 PM.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 11.868 mills, an increase of 1.359 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 10.509 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000.00 is approximately $54.36 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $75,000.00 is approximately $40.77.
