Last Day to Request Vote-by-Mail Ballot for March 17 Special Election*
Friday, March 6, 2026
If you need to vote by mail in the March 17 special election, March 6 is the last day to request an absentee ballot. Applications must be submitted before 5 PM.
* The following information only applies if Emanuel County does, indeed, have to call a special election:
To vote by mail in the upcoming March 17 special election, you must submit your ballot request by March 6. Applications can be sent by mail, fax, email, or in person at the Emanuel County Elections Office.
If you miss the deadline, you must vote in person during early voting or on Election Day.
Once you receive your absentee ballot, fill it out and return it before (or by 7 PM on) Election Day.
If this is the first election of the calendar year and you would like to continue receiving ballots for later elections during this calendar year, indicate such on your ballot when you receive it.
If you have already completed a mail-in ballot this calendar year and opted on that ballot to continue receiving ballots by mail this calendar year, you should not have to request a vote-by-mail ballot for this election. It should arrive in the mail automatically.
Important Note: The opt-in is only good for 1 calendar year and does not roll over into a new calendar year.
Our Absentee Voting Guide provides a complete overview of this type of voting.
