Halei Lamb

Halei Lamb is a native of Wrightsville. She graduated from Swainsboro High School in 2011 and went to Andrew College on an athletic scholarship. A year later, she came home and continued her studies in English at East Georgia State College, laying the foundation for a career in communications.

Halei spent the next 3 years working with David Emanuel Academy’s softball team, helping coach the program to its first-ever state championship appearance.

In 2015, she landed a job as editor of The Forest-Blade, Emanuel County’s weekly newspaper. She covered countless community stories across every news beat, earning her honors from the Georgia Press Association, including the prestigious Emerging Journalist of the Year Award. She also spent time in the graphics department for the local paper and was tapped to judge newspaper contests for the Kansas and Arkansas press associations.

From 2019 to 2022, she helped establish another local newspaper in Swainsboro, The Crossroads Chronicle. She oversaw nearly every aspect of that publication—from contributing news content to building and delivering the paper and everything in between.

The next stop of Halei’s career took her to WJBF NewsChannel 6. She produced the station and market’s top show, Good Morning Augusta, a 2-and-a-half-hour segment covering 18 counties across Georgia and South Carolina. Her contributions helped bump ratings by 1.5 percent, leading to her colleagues voting her Employee of the Month just 3 months into the job.

Halei and her husband, Chris, welcomed their son, Evan, in November 2022. At the end of her maternity leave, she answered her heart’s call to return home and joined the county team as county clerk.

Halei and her family live in Kite. They are true Swainsboro Tiger fans, and they love to play golf and travel.
