Rhonda Scarboro grew up in Swainsboro. She finished high school here and attended both East Georgia and Southeastern Tech (formerly Swainsboro Tech).
Her career in human resources began in 1986 at Ithica Industries, which was, at one time, one of Swainsboro’s biggest manufacturing plants. When it closed in 1999, Rhonda joined the county.
Since then, she has worn many hats for the county. Rhonda started out in payroll and accounts payable and eventually took over onboarding new hires. She likes working for the county because it allows her to be involved with the community and provides stability in the workplace.
As one of the longest-tenured county employees, Rhonda says she has seen lots of changes in our local government over the years, like considerable growth and more structure.
On a personal note, she is the wife of Danny Scarboro. They’ve been married for 39 years. Their family includes: Zane, Cayla, and Loralee Scarboro; Zade and Jonathan Hullander; and Alan, Jace, and Kaleigh Scarboro.
Rhonda’s enjoys playing golf when time permits, antiquing with Zade, and spending time with her loved ones.
She credits her mother, a “true, down to earth, southern, Christian lady” as her greatest mentor.
